He is the founder of the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA), a nationally celebrated platform spotlighting Scotland’s diverse and emerging music scene. Over its 15-year history, SAMA has recognized outstanding artists, including Taahliah, Hannah Laing, Bemz,
Brògeal, Dvne, and Callum Easter, among others. Beyond national recognition, SAMA creates international opportunities for artists, showcasing Scottish talent at renowned events like Pro Weekend Fest (Spain), New Skool Rules (Netherlands), Future Echoes (Sweden), and Liverpool Sound City (UK).
Richy is also the co-founder of PITCH Scotland, a two-day international conference and showcase event dedicated to amplifying hip hop and underground music culture. PITCH has featured high-profile speakers such as Jamz Supernova, Elijah, Darren McGarvey, and LaJoyce Brookshire, along with performers including Ferge x Fisherman, Namesbliss, KOJ, and Quake Matthews. Graduating with a master’s degree in music entrepreneurship, Richy has built a career creating impactful events and freelancing with leading organizations like Roadrunner Records, Red Bull, BBC Scotland, and PRS Foundation. His expertise spans event management, project planning, partnership development, and international export. Richy is passionate about empowering and platforming the next generation of artists, both locally and globally.
